Split roller bearings are mainly used for shafts supported at several points and locations that are difficult to access. Typical applications include conveying equipment, material handling equipment, ventilation equipment, steel rolling, marine and paper making. First of all, understand the installation and design features of replacing bearings with suitable sets and in split housings:

 

1), replace the bearing with the appropriate set

 

Usually split spherical roller bearings replace non-split spherical roller bearings with suitable sets. The prerequisite for replacement is that the outer diameter, outer ring width and diameter of the shaft seat are the same.

 

2) Installation matters in the split housing

 

Split spherical roller bearings can be installed in split housings without the need for additional machining of the housing. This also applies to housings from other manufacturers if the internal dimensions are the same.

 

1. Because the installation space of the split spherical roller bearing (top) is the same as that of the non-made split self-aligning actuator bearing (bottom) with a matching set. So it is very easy to replace the bearing.

 

2. Simple inspection, quick and easy installation – Split spherical roller bearings are installed in SNV housings.

 

3. The internal design of the bearing with integrated ballast ring is the same as the proven E1 design.

 

4. Split spherical roller bearing with split solid cage made of glass fiber reinforced polyamide or yellow steel, with integrated locking ring.

 

5. Split spherical roller bearings with separate and split ballast rings for special occasions.

 

3) Bearing design features:

 

1. The split spherical roller bearing has a cylindrical inner hole. The inner ring, outer ring and cage with rollers are split into two halves. The split bearing rings are held together by screws.

 

2. The internal design of most split spherical roller bearings is developed from the proven spherical roller bearing E1. The only difference is that some larger bearings have a rigid center rib on the inner ring.

 

3. These bearings have a split solid cage (for high temperature suitability) made of glass fiber reinforced polyamide or brass.

 

4. Split spherical roller bearings have the normal tolerances of non-split radial bearings and the normal internal clearance of non-split spherical roller bearings with cylindrical bore (DIN 620).

 

5. In most split spherical roller bearings, the locking ring is integrated in the inner ring.

 

Installation steps of split spherical roller bearing:

 

The following figure outlines the installation steps of the split spherical roller bearing. Combined with the installation matters and design features of the split bearing housing, we can install it better. Proceed as follows:

 

1. Support the weight of the rotor;

 

2. Remove the bearing housing cover;

 

3. Dismantle the old bearing (the non-split bearing with the appropriate set of cutting machine should be used);

 

4. Put half of the outer ring under the bearing seat, align it with the inner ring installed on the shaft, and then tighten the two inner rings together with screws;

 

5. Install the rest of the components, and install the upper half of the outer ring;

 

6. To make the bearing load, lower the shaft;

 

7. Install the upper part of the bearing seat.

    This structure is only suitable for trolleys running with trolleys or carts. This eliminates the need for a larger machine tool for processing. For the end beam of the bridge crane or the lower beam of the door crane that does not use a trolley, the wheel base is generally relatively large, and it is a welded part. If the hole is boring, it is necessary to set the machining reference. Even so, during the work process, under the load Under the action, the main beam and the end beam will be deformed to a certain extent, and the precision of processing and assembly cannot be maintained, so the vertical and horizontal deflection requirements of the wheel cannot be guaranteed.

    Between the wheel set of the crane and the track, it is not required to be very precise. As for the problem of rail gnawing, there are many reasons, and other methods can be taken to solve it, such as adding a horizontal wheel and so on.

As for the convenience of maintenance, it depends on the occasion, such as a bridge crane with only 4 wheels, when the wheels are repaired and replaced on the track, the wheel set using the angle bearing box may be easier to disassemble and assemble. Bearing housing assembly, replace as a whole. If a 45° split bearing seat is used, the end beam needs to be raised very high. From the perspective of safety, the time for working at heights should be minimized.

If it is easy to disassemble, it is only in the factory or maintenance workshop, when assembling, the 45° split bearing seat is easier than the wheel set of the angle bearing box.
